If you've found yourself with an abundance of scrap metal cluttering your property, business, or worksite, McSteel Salvage & Cleanup is here to help. As long as you have enough metal to fill one of our 53-foot trailers, we will come to you!

Our expert crew is highly trained and equipped to handle any scrap metal removal job, no matter the size or complexity. Whether it's farmyard scrap, oilfield debris, or industrial equipment, we have the tools and expertise to do the job right. Our powerful magnets efficiently pick up smaller metal pieces from the ground, leaving your boneyard, farmyard, or property spotless.

Accepted Materials

At McSteel, we accept all types of metals and steel, no matter the quantity or condition. From old machinery and farm equipment to broken down vehicles and appliances, if it's metal, we'll take it off your hands! We aim to make recycling your scrap metal as hassle-free as possible, making it convenient and straightforward for our clients across Alberta, Saskatchewan and the Northwest Territories to eliminate their unwanted metal items.

The Demolition Process

Whether it's an oilfield boneyard demolition or a farmyard cleanup, we take a meticulous approach. The steps in McSteel's demolition and large site cleanup process are as follows:

  1. We assess the area and identify any potential hazards or challenges.
  2. Then, we bring in the necessary equipment, such as shears and excavators, to start the demolition or large site cleanup.
  3. Our crew will carefully dismantle structures such as large bins and towers and remove the debris. If your site is not being demolished, our crew will begin pulling scrap metal and machinery from your property.
  4. Every truckload of scrap metal will be carefully weighed to ensure the accuracy of your payout.
  5. Once the site is cleared, McSteel will perform a final cleanup by hand to ensure no materials remain.
  6. Finally, we backblade the area so it is ready for whatever you have in mind, and then we will mail you a cheque for the total value of your scrap metal.

If your site has an ongoing flow of scrap metal, McSteel also offers convenient scrap metal bin services following a large site cleanup/ demolition project. Learn more about our scrap metal bins here

Boneyard Clean Up vs. Demolition Services

While boneyard or laydown yard cleanups involve clearing surplus machinery and scrap metal from storage zones, demolition projects mainly focus on dismantling structures and restoring the site to its original state. All of our services are tailored to meet your specific needs. Whether you're looking to clean up a cluttered boneyard or demolish an old structure, McSteel has the experience and expertise to get the job done right.

Understanding Pricing & Payment Options

Our pricing is based on current market rates, with monthly adjustments for regular metals and weekly updates for special metals like copper and aluminum. McSteel understands the importance of fair pricing, and we aim to offer competitive service rates. Once your metal is weighed on our on-site scale, we'll issue payment via mail or have it ready for you to pick up at our High Prairie or Wainwright locations.

Please note: we do not offer cash payments.

Our Commitment to Safety & Compliance

Safety is McSteel's highest priority, and we comply with stringent safety protocols and standards to ensure a risk-free environment for our team and clients. From site assessment to final cleanup, we prioritize safety at every step of the process. Our team is trained in H2S, first aid, and other essential safety measures, including COR certification, ensuring that each pickup, large site cleanup, or demolition job is completed with great care and attention to detail.

Pricing and payment options

Our pricing for bin services is determined based on the types of metals that are deposited in the bin, which are weighed on our scale. We adjust our pricing weekly and monthly according to current market rates to ensure fair compensation. However, we deduct the weight of any non-metallic materials such as cement, wood or garbage that are found in the bin. Payments are issued via cheque and mailed to the provided address after each bin service, unless otherwise specified. Alternatively, we can maintain an account for you, and pay out all scale tickets at once. If you would like us to include GST on the cheque, kindly provide us with your GST number.
