Whether for a major home renovation or to keep farmland clean and free of debris, scrap metal bins are a must-have for anyone doing work involving a lot of scrap metal. Scrap metal bins are an easy and efficient way to maintain a clean and safe worksite for oil fields and mechanical and industrial businesses.

McSteel Salvage & Clean Up offers scrap metal bin services across Alberta, Saskatchewan and the Northwest Territories. There are no rental fees or time limits to fill the bin; simply fill it at your own pace and get in touch with us for collection once it is full. Available Bin Selection

McSteel’s scrap metal bins are available in 16ft, 20ft and 30ft because different jobs require different bins! The 20ft and 30ft bins are suitable for all types of metals and materials and do not have a weight limit. If you primarily have a large quantity of non-heavy metals or a lot of heavy scrap metals, we recommend the 16ft bin because it has a weight limit.

Our scrap metal bin services are ideal for businesses requiring regular metal recycling services. The McSteel team can readily provide a fresh bin once your current bin has been filled, allowing continuous recycling without clutter on the worksite.

Alternatively, if you need a scrap metal bin for a one-off project, McSteel can arrange for the bin to be placed and picked up upon project completion.

Safety & Compliance: Bin Loading Best Practices

As the safety of our crew is paramount, we kindly ask you to be mindful of how the bins are loaded. If you are mixing lighter and heavier metals, please place the lighter material on the bottom so it does not fly off during transport back to our scrap yard.

A safely loaded scrap metal bin is one where all materials fit inside the bin without any overhang. If the scrap metal bin is not safely loaded, McSteel drivers have the right to refuse service, and the customer will bear any associated travel costs to our scrap yard.

Accepted Materials

Any and all metals are accepted in the bins, including but not limited to aluminum (clean, dirty & mixed), copper, stainless steel, shred, electric motors, batteries, train metal (spikes, plates, tracks), heavy milled 1 and 2, and more!

McSteel does accept fencing wire; however, we will not pay for it because it is not recyclable and will remain in the scrap metal yard. If your business requires multiple bins onsite, we highly recommend separating the ferrous and non-ferrous metals to increase your overall return.
