Some metals are more valuable than others, and if you have old equipment, tools, and scraps on your property made from these materials, you just might get a decent payday. Below, we’ll go through our scrap metal removal process, how we price scrap metal, and which scraps can put the most dollars in your pocket. Keep reading to learn more!
How Scrap Metal Removal Works
Before your scrap metal can be priced and paid out, it needs to be transported to one of our scrap yards. Small quantities of metal can be brought directly to our Wainright or High Prairie locations, but if you have enough to fill one of our 53-ft trailers, we’ll handle the pickup and removal process for you! Whether you want to clear a farmyard, oilfield site, or commercial property, you can count on us to do the job right.
One of our experts will visit your property, make a plan with you to decide which items we can and can’t take to our scrap yard, and assess the extent of the clean-up. Depending on the size of your load, we’ll use excavators, loaders, and other equipment to complete the job and get your metal en route to our yard!
Our Weigh-In and Pricing Process
Once your scrap load reaches one of our two locations, our team will weigh the truckload using our calibrated scale. After the initial weigh-in, we’ll direct you to our drop-off area, where we’ll help you unload your metal. After your pile is unloaded, we’ll do a final weigh-out of the truck/trailer used to better determine the exact weight of your haul.
We believe in fairness and transparency when pricing scrap metal and will only offer you the best rates available for your scrap. After your pile has been weighed, our team will assess the contents and offer you a competitive price range based on current market rates for your selected metals. Once the price is finalized, we’ll provide you with a cheque and receipt.
Scrap Metals That Offer a High Pay-Out
Some metals have higher market values than others, and we want to make sure you reap the benefits! Copper is generally in high demand due to its use in wiring and plumbing, while aluminum offers a fair return due to its versatility and lightweight. Lead scraps like car batteries are also valuable, as they are highly recyclable. Steel is another sought-after metal and can be found in scrap cars, appliances, and various machinery. If you have a yard full of miscellaneous tools, equipment, and other scrap, chances are you have one or two of these metals in the pile!
